Hallmark’s Smile As Big As The Moon proves to be a big event for Space Camp and Huntsville!
The L.A. premiere of Hallmark Hall of Fame’s Smile as Big as the Moon was great! It was truly amazing to see so many people attend the event and what was even better was walking the hall outside of the theater after the movie was shown. Remarks such as “an amazing story” and “it deserves an Emmy” should give you an idea of how powerful and touching Mike Kersjes’ story is. The movie is cast with veteran and new stars alike. The cast works together to create something that tug and pull on your heart as well as a tear or two.
The L.A. event also brought a lot of awareness to the Space Camp programs thanks to the marketing staff of the U.S. Space and Rocket Center who were on hand to promote the camp programs. That awareness will hopefully pay off as well when the movie airs on ABC this Sunday night with additional showings on the Hallmark Channel next week.
So what are you doing tonight? If you are in Huntsville you can get a sneak peak of the movie tonight (1/27) at the Huntsville premiere event! $10 tickets are still available and if you are a member of the center check your e-mail for a special buy one get one free offer.
In closing I want to thank the USSRC for the invite to attend the event in L.A.! The movie presents a wonderful representation of the U.S. Space and Rocket Center and the Space Camp program. I look forward to seeing your thoughts on the movie on Twitter using the #SmileMovie hastag.
